Struggling to make it through the week? Lack of energy on this Thursday afternoon? Nothing is more energizing than seeing a group of Key Club members at work! The Key Club McKeel Academy of Technology gathered this afternoon and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for people struggling to meet their food needs. Members were split into teams and five minutes were put on the clock! Controlled chaos ensued! Over 200 sandwiches were donated to the Dream Center of Lakeland! Thank you McKeel Key Clubbers for making a difference! #FloridaKiwanis #bethekey #keyclub #KidsNeedKiwanis

Kimberly Jacobs and the social committee did it! Tuesday night, members of the Lakeland Kiwanis Club played their part in the Mayhem High Senior Prom Murder Mystery. Scandal, intrigue, questionable dance moves, bad acting and nefarious motives were all on display on the dance floor of the senior class prom. Thank you to Kim and her committee for their work putting together a great evening and for hosting us at The Swan Room. ![]()

At our recent meeting, President Paul Colee invited 2021-2022 President Adam Hartley back to the podium to thank our members for their commitment to service and to present our membership with the Club of the Year banner from the recent Florida District of Kiwanis Convention. Adam discussed the efforts that led to the club winning 2021-2022 Club of the Year for the Florida District of Kiwanis. Strong leadership from the last several club presidents and their lasting fingerprints on the organization pushed the club to new heights. Our entire membership stepped up and made the club's 100th year one for the record books! ![]()

This afternoon members of the Lakeland Kiwanis Club were on hand at The Bethany Center at Good Shepherd Hospice for a check presentation and dedication of the Play Room. The Bethany Center is dedicated to children dealing with the loss of a loved one. The facility is equipped with various rooms and activities that help children cope with feelings that they maybe harboring or unsure how to express. This year, President Paul Colee made the Bethany Center his Presidential priority. A portion of the funds raised by the Lakeland Kiwanis Club this year went towards the Play Room at the Bethany Center. We are in awe of the work that the Bethany Center does and we are proud that we were able to play a part in the ongoing success of the facility. Thank you to our members, the community and everyone who played a part in the success of this year's fundraising efforts! #FloridaKiwanis #KidsNeedKiwanis #lakelandflorida
Thank you to our guest speaker Derrick Graham. Mr. Graham spoke to us today at our weekly Kiwanis meeting. Derrick shared with us the ups and downs of his football career. From his time at Appalachian State to the NFL Draft and his time with the Kansas City Chiefs and a few other teams, we learned about his triumphs and tragedies. Graham shared with us his inspirational message of not giving up and getting through hard times and living to see a brighter day. We ended the meeting with autographed rookie cards for everyone! #KidsNeedKiwanis #DontGiveUp #BetterDaysAreComing
